In a high-octane rally in Samastipur, Bihar, on October 24, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), while expressing confidence in the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prospects in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Predicting a Record-Breaking Mandate

Addressing a massive crowd, PM Modi asserted that the NDA would secure its largest-ever mandate in Bihar, drawing parallels with the party’s successes in other states. He highlighted the BJP’s increased majority in Maharashtra, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand, attributing these victories to the NDA’s commitment to good governance and development. Modi emphasized that under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the NDA would surpass its previous record in Bihar.

Targeting Rahul Gandhi

According to The Times of India, the Prime Minister criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly misleading the public by carrying the Constitution. He accused Gandhi of attempting to mislead the people of Bihar, questioning his commitment to the nation’s democratic values.

Renewed ‘Jungle Raj’ Allegations Against RJD

PM Modi revisited his ‘Jungle Raj’ narrative, accusing the RJD of creating an environment of lawlessness during its tenure in power. He claimed that the RJD left no stone unturned in damaging Bihar’s progress, even threatening Congress to withdraw support if they wanted to help the BJP-NDA government in Bihar. Modi emphasized that the people of Bihar must reject the RJD to ensure good governance.

Invoking Karpoori Thakur’s Legacy

In a strategic move, PM Modi invoked the legacy of former Bihar Chief Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Karpoori Thakur. He praised Thakur for his role in the state’s development and accused the opposition of attempting to appropriate his title of ‘Jannayak’ (people’s leader). Modi stated that it was because of leaders like Thakur that individuals from backward communities, like himself and Nitish Kumar, could rise to prominence.

Final Word

As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, PM Modi’s rally in Samastipur has set the tone for the BJP’s campaign, focusing on governance, development, and a strong critique of the opposition. The invocation of Karpoori Thakur’s legacy and the renewed ‘Jungle Raj’ allegations against the RJD are expected to resonate with voters, influencing the political discourse in the state.
