Haryanvi Pop Singer Rahul Fazilpuria Targeted in Gunfire Attack in Gurugram

In a shocking incident that has raised serious questions about celebrity security, popular Haryanvi singer Rahul Fazilpuria was reportedly targeted in a gunfire attack in Gurugram’s Sector 71 on the evening of July 14. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and there was no damage to his vehicle. However, the police have launched an intensive investigation into the case, which comes just weeks after Fazilpuria’s official police protection was withdrawn, reported The Tribune.

What Happened in Sector 71

The incident occurred around 8 PM near the CSD Apartments along the Southern Peripheral Road, when Fazilpuria was traveling in his Mahindra Thar SUV. According to preliminary reports, two gunshots were allegedly fired from a vehicle following his car. Eyewitnesses said they heard gunfire, but so far, no bullet casings have been recovered from the scene.

Local police were alerted at around 6:10 PM and quickly arrived at the location to cordon off the area and begin their investigation. Though Fazilpuria remained unharmed, the incident has created a stir in the city and within the entertainment community.

Police Launch Full Investigation

The Badshapur police confirmed that a case has been registered and an in-depth probe is underway. Officials are scanning CCTV footage from surrounding areas and are looking for forensic evidence to confirm whether shots were actually fired and to identify the vehicle and suspects involved.

ASI Sandeep Kumar, speaking to the media, said the police are considering several angles, including personal enmity or targeted intimidation. As of now, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Fazilpuria Had Recently Lost Police Protection

Rahul Fazilpuria, whose real name is Rahul Yadav, is a well-known figure in the Haryanvi and Punjabi music industries. He gained fame with hit tracks like “Kar Gayi Chull” (which was later featured in Bollywood) and “Chori Maar Dalegi”. He has collaborated with big names including rapper Badshah and enjoys a strong following, particularly in Haryana and Delhi NCR.

In recent months, Fazilpuria had raised concerns about threats to his safety and had reportedly requested police protection, which was initially provided. However, his official security cover was withdrawn shortly before this incident. The firing has now intensified calls for its reinstatement.

Questions Over Public Figure Safety

The attack has reignited concerns about the safety of artists and public figures in the country. While the motive remains unclear, the timing — shortly after his security was removed — has sparked serious debate over how decisions regarding police protection are made and whether they account for ongoing threats.

Fans, industry peers, and social media users have voiced support for the singer and urged authorities to take quick action. Some political figures have also commented on the matter, demanding accountability and stronger protective measures for at-risk individuals.

What Lies Ahead

Police are currently pursuing all leads, including examining potential rivalries or professional disputes. Forensic teams are still combing the scene, and investigators are expected to release preliminary findings soon.

Meanwhile, Fazilpuria has not issued an official statement but is said to be cooperating with law enforcement.
