Himachal Pradesh is witnessing an early onset of winter as higher reaches of the state, including Lahaul, Spiti, and Manali, have received fresh snowfall. This weather change has led to a significant drop in temperatures across the region.

According to the local meteorological office, the minimum temperatures across the state have ranged from 0°C to 30°C, while maximum temperatures have varied between 16°C and 34°C. In Shimla, the state capital, the minimum temperature dropped by 1.1°C, reaching 11.5°C. The town experienced mostly cloudy weather throughout the day, with a light rainfall in the afternoon contributing to the temperature dip.

According to The Tribune, the fresh snowfall in the higher altitudes has brought smiles to tourism stakeholders in Manali and Lahaul-Spiti, as they anticipate an increase in tourist footfall. The snowfall has also led to a dip in the minimum temperatures in these areas, with Keylong recording the coldest at -7.3°C.

The meteorological department has issued a yellow warning for the coming days, forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in several parts of the state. Snowfall is expected in isolated places in high-altitude areas and the tribal belt.

Travelers planning to visit the region are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and exercise caution while traveling in the affected areas.
