The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their 18-year title drought by clinching their first-ever IPL championship, defeating the Punjab Kings in a dramatic final. But beyond the electrifying victory, what truly captured fans’ hearts was the emotional celebration led by Virat Kohli and captain Rajat Patidar, who danced their way into the spotlight — literally.
A Night to Remember for RCB and Its Loyal Fans
The much-awaited win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was nothing short of cinematic. After years of heartbreaks and near-misses, RCB held their nerve to win the IPL 2025 final by 6 runs. The win was made even more memorable by the images of Virat Kohli wiping away tears, hugging teammates, and finally holding the IPL trophy aloft.
Kohli, the talismanic former captain, had played in multiple IPL finals (2009, 2011, 2016), but a title had always remained elusive—until now. As the final ball was bowled and the stadium erupted, the camera panned to a jubilant Kohli breaking into a celebratory dance with skipper Rajat Patidar, sending social media into a frenzy.
Kohli and Patidar’s Celebration Goes Viral
The victory party continued at the team hotel, where videos of Kohli and Patidar dancing to peppy Bollywood numbers quickly went viral. Fans on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) couldn’t get enough of Kohli’s moves and Patidar’s infectious energy.

Cricket lovers dubbed it the “Dance of Redemption” — a fitting tribute to RCB’s perseverance and passion over nearly two decades. Patidar, who led RCB admirably this season, credited the victory to the team’s unity, planning, and belief.
“We did it for the fans, for the franchise, and for legends like Virat Kohli who gave everything for this badge,” Patidar said in the post-match interview.
RCB’s Homecoming Parade in Bengaluru
The city of Bengaluru is all set for a grand victory parade on June 5. Massive crowds are expected to turn up to celebrate their team’s historic moment. The city’s streets will be painted red as the players ride an open-top bus from MG Road to Cubbon Park.
The BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) has announced traffic diversions and public celebrations, turning the day into an unofficial citywide holiday.
Kohli’s Emotional Tribute
Virat Kohli took a moment to dedicate the win to former RCB legends AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle, saying:
“This is for everyone who wore this jersey before us, and every fan who believed in us, year after year. Today, we are champions.”
