Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has officially launched the 2025 XL750 Transalp, marking the arrival of a globally acclaimed adventure tourer into the Indian market. Priced at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram), the motorcycle is now open for bookings at Honda’s BigWing dealerships across the country. Deliveries are expected to begin in July 2025.
A Global Touring Icon Enters Indian Roads
The XL750 Transalp revives a legendary nameplate, celebrated worldwide for its touring and off-road prowess. First introduced in the late 1980s, the Transalp was known for balancing rugged capability with long-distance comfort. The 2025 model has been engineered to uphold that reputation with a modern interpretation built for both highways and trails.
Honda officials emphasized the brand’s commitment to expanding its adventure motorcycle portfolio in India. Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of HMSI, called the Transalp “an iconic name that has been adored by adventure biking enthusiasts across the globe.” Yogesh Mathur, Director of Sales and Marketing at HMSI, added, “With the introduction of the all-new XL750 Transalp, we are proud to add another adventure motorcycle to our premium BigWing lineup.”

Powertrain and Performance
The new XL750 Transalp is powered by a 755cc liquid-cooled, 8-valve, parallel-twin engine that delivers 90.5 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 75 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike also comes equipped with a slip-and-assist clutch for smoother shifting.
To cater to varying riding conditions, the bike features a Throttle‑By‑Wire system that allows the rider to switch between five distinct riding modes: Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel, and User (customizable). Each mode tweaks parameters such as power delivery, engine braking, ABS intervention, and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), which includes integrated wheelie control for added safety on rough terrains.
Suspension, Braking, and Handling
Adventure-ready hardware includes a steel diamond frame complemented by Showa 43mm SFF-CA USD front forks and a Pro-Link monoshock rear suspension. The suspension setup ensures optimal performance on highways, city roads, and off-road trails alike.
The motorcycle features 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels with tube-type tyres, enhancing its ability to tackle uneven and rocky terrains. Braking duties are handled by dual 310mm wave discs with axial-mounted calipers up front, and a 256mm single disc at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard and tailored for both on-road and off-road applications.
Design and Features
The XL750 Transalp borrows its styling cues from Honda’s larger Africa Twin and the street-focused CB750 Hornet. It sports a tall and upright stance, ideal for long-distance travel and better ground clearance. The motorcycle is available in two colour options: Ross White and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic.
Aerodynamics are refined with a tall windscreen and integrated fairing design. A dual LED headlamp setup, sleek tail section, and rugged fuel tank shrouds give it an imposing presence on the road.
A standout feature is the 5-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster, which offers turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone connectivity, music control, and call/message alerts via the Honda RoadSync system. The interface is managed through a handlebar-mounted switchgear, allowing riders to toggle settings on the go.
Additional features include backlit switchgear, auto-canceling indicators, emergency stop signal, and the option to equip a quickshifter for clutchless gear changes.

Comfort and Ergonomics
Designed for long-distance comfort, the XL750 Transalp features a contoured split seat with adequate cushioning for both rider and pillion. The upright riding triangle, combined with a wide handlebar and mid-set foot pegs, ensures a relaxed posture suitable for touring and off-road control.
The seat height stands at 850mm, offering a commanding view of the road while remaining manageable for most riders. A generous 16.9-litre fuel tank further supports extended rides without frequent fuel stops.
Price and Availability
The 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp is priced at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram). While this places it slightly higher than some competitors in the segment, it offers a comprehensive package of performance, electronics, and brand reliability. Bookings have opened at BigWing dealerships, with deliveries expected to begin in July 2025. Customers who pre-book before July 31 may also receive special introductory benefits.
Market Competition and Outlook
With its entry, the XL750 Transalp will compete in the middleweight adventure segment alongside models like the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, BMW F 850 GS, Triumph Tiger 850 Sport, and KTM 890 Adventure. Honda’s reputation for quality, combined with a balanced blend of performance and comfort, is expected to make the Transalp an attractive option for Indian riders looking to venture beyond city limits.
By bringing the XL750 Transalp to India, Honda is not just expanding its product line but also reaffirming its commitment to serving the evolving needs of adventure motorcyclists in the country.
